Two men have been charged following a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray caused injuries at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, according to official statements.

This legal action stems from an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not being treated as terrorism – led to train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
