Trump's Family Member Gets Professional Advice from Tiger Woods Ahead of LPGA Debut
The rising star maintains considerable social media following
Kai Trump will have multiple high-profile backers when she begins her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of a former US president, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika tournament in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple international courses and frequently matches against his granddaughter.
"He's quite skilled. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that her grandfather, who cannot attend, advised her: "Just stay calm."
"He practically advised me to play and have fun," she continued.
"In my eyes, he's simply an ordinary family member. He won't be there for the tournament. He's focused on running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
Being non-professional, Kai has participated in only three events in 2024 and holds the 461st position in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
But she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Vanessa.
"He is the best player globally," Kai expressed.
"Additionally, he's an even better person. He told me to play, relax, adapting to the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple the biggest names in professional golf at the Annika, including world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner Lilia Vu.
Tournament organizers commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to wider groups, particularly reaching younger fans.
The young star has substantial online presence and recently launched her own fashion and living company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
