Former BBC Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Grilling In the Wake of Assertions of Partiality in Unauthorized Document

Ex- BBC advisers testifying before Members of Parliament

We begin with questions from Conservative lawmaker the committee chair, who leads the group.

She opens by offering background to the unauthorized memo prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in the Telegraph.

"It is not my wish for the British Broadcasting Corporation tilting this way or that way, I simply desire it straight, fair and fair," he states.

In response to a query if he thinks the British Broadcasting Corporation is structurally prejudiced, the adviser replies: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the BBC produces is exceptional - encompassing informative and non-factual content."

But he adds: "There exists substantial tasks that requires attention at the BBC."

Another ex-adviser BBC adviser questioned by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it operates a "ongoing system and vigorous discourse" on dynamic and complex topics.

"Whether the BBC was willing to have a genuine conversation and debate and implement changes?" she reflects. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
