An Palestinian-American adolescent who spent nine months in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested this past winter within the occupied West Bank, while he was vacationing from his Florida home for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, allegations he repeatedly contested.

American diplomatic officials applauded the teenager's freedom.

Now sixteen years old, required hospitalization upon gaining freedom, relatives told the media.

They said he is showing signs of malnutrition, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

In a statement, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

The uncle, Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Right now, we're concentrating on ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care necessary for his recovery after being subjected to harsh conditions and inhumane conditions over several months."

The state department announced ongoing to extend consular services for the Ibrahim family.

{"US government authorities has no higher priority to the protection and welfare for United States citizens"," it added.

Several congressional representatives submitted a formal letter to US authorities and President Donald Trump, urging greater action to release him.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously said his son only confessed to throwing stones because the soldiers beat him.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard what had happened to him via legal paperwork.

Mohammed was held without charge at Ofer detention facility on the West Bank.

The facility also contains mature inmates, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian child security detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.

Many have never been charged while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture.

Subsequent to his liberation, Mr Kadur said they would maintain their efforts for justice for his cousin Sayfollah Musallet.

This young American-Palestinian according to health authorities was beaten to death by radical settlers following tensions last July.

Initially, defense forces stated authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had been killed.

Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together at their family's ice cream business in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We anticipate United States leadership to safeguard our relatives," family representatives emphasized.
