Aircraft Carrying Pete Hegseth Forced to Touch Down in UK Because of Crack in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the plane's windshield, per an official statement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down following standard protocol and everyone onboard, including Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer said in a social media post.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event does not mark the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a top government figure has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to return to Washington after encountering a mechanical fault.
